One married couple, one mother and teenage son, two older women who had known each other previously, and two others who were strangers form the group who will have such an impact on each other. There is mystery, twists, humor, clean romance and edification in this story. The writing includes references to local landmarks as well as literary allusions to Jack Kerouac, Robert Louis Stevenson, and, especially, Edgar Allan Poe. This is one of those books that I want to read over and over.
